OVERVIEW:

PharmaIN, a peptide therapeutics company in Bothell, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate in cell biology or immunology to carry out characterization studies of lead therapeutics in the areas of inflammation, fibrosis, and tumor immunology. The ideal candidate thrives on critical thinking within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possesses the ability to independently tackle projects, demonstrating a profound capacity for problem-solving.

The preferred candidate will be proficient in maintaining, passaging, testing, freezing and thawing cell lines, transfection and subsequent ELISA-based assays for quantitation and biological function. The ideal candidate would also have experience in PCR, SDS-PAGE, and western blots.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct a range of cell-based bioassays to support development of therapeutic candidates including ELISA, PCR, SDS-PAGE, and western blots
    • Cell line generation through transfection (transient and stable) and selection
    • Support in vivo and translational studies for testing safety and efficacy of clinical candidates
    • Generate experimental data, prepare technical reports, conduct presentations if necessary
    • Maintain accurate records of laboratory protocols/procedures and conducted experiments
    • Order appropriate reagents and maintain inventory
    • Communicate results in timely manner to team members and decision makers
    • Contact vendors or CROs (Contract Research Organization) when applicable

Requirements:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related life science discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in cell biology or related field, industry experience is preferred
  • Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture; aseptic technique, cell line maintenance, mycoplasma testing, freezing and thawing cells from liquid nitrogen
  • Experience with microscopy-based techniques or Incucyte is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office; experience with GraphPad Prism is a plus
  • Basic rodent handling technique is a plus
