About You!        
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Senior Program Manager to lead our program management efforts. This is an exciting and visible program management opportunity to progress the most advanced peptide drugs in the clinic for cancer and advanced cirrhosis through later stage development. The ideal candidate is proficient, self-motivated, excels in a rapidly evolving environment, and has a strong understanding of drug development.

This key role requires a strong background in project management within the biotech industry, and adept partnering with key stakeholders across functional areas to help translate program strategy into a robust and efficient execution plan. The successful individual is expected to help “make things happen” via productive collaborations in an organization as it progresses into mid to late-stage clinical development for its lead program. You will work independently under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (or as determined by the Company).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional team leaders to coordinate efforts across various areas, ensuring strategic and operational alignment in program development.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and implement integrated project plans with up-to-date assumptions, accounting for goals, key deliverables, and risks to enable accurate financial and business planning.
  • Scenario Assessment: Evaluate alternative development scenarios based on cost, timeline, risk, and strategic needs.
  • Resource & Risk Management: Manage project teams through resource planning, timeline development, risk management, finance, and budgeting.
  • Proactive Risk Identification: Ensure program risks are identified and managed, including maintaining program-level quality tolerance limits; collaborate with cross-functional leads and subject matter experts to develop mitigation plans.
  • Program Implementation: Together with cross-functional leads, design, communicate, and execute program plans to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor progress against project plans, define key metrics, and track deliverables.
  • Risk Mitigation & Contingency Planning: Work with cross-functional leads and subject matter experts to develop and implement contingency plans, lead problem-solving efforts, and minimize the impact of risks to program plans.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain real-time project action plans and serve as a resource for stakeholders, ensuring transparent updates throughout the project.
  • Industry Partnerships: Foster smooth collaboration with industry partners.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Ensure stakeholders receive detailed and relevant information based on their roles.
  • Process Optimization: Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for improving team and business processes.
  • Leadership & Decision-Making: Secure senior leadership approval on strategy, budget, and timeline changes.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Lead project team meetings, ensuring effective information management, prioritization, and documentation of decisions while tracking and executing action items efficiently
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication: Work with all departments and leadership team to support business development efforts and to facilitate alliance management.

You have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemistry or a similar scientific discipline; Master’s degree a plus
  • 10+ years of project management experience in the life sciences industry
  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, SmartSheet, One Page, etc.), advanced Excel abilities
  • Certification (PMP or similar) and/or formal training in Project Management is preferred
  • Significant experience in program management related to clinical development and chemistry, manufacturing and controls
  • Excellent communication skills; able to lead cross functional teams and effectively communicate to key stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Proven ability to establish, maintain, and lead high performing project teams
  • Able to hold team members and vendors accountable to execute on time and within budget
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory deliverables in U.S.
  • Highly organized and process driven
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary biotech environment

We are committed to ensuring all employees, both current and future, receive fair and equitable pay. Base pay is one component of the total compensation package, and is determined within a range according to role, level, and location. This provides the opportunity for growth as you gain experience and develop within a role, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $200,000 and reflects our good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum target for the position as of the date of posting and may be modified in the future. The final base pay within the range will be determined by job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and market demand for your expertise.
